RULES OF ENTRYCompetition Guidelines The competition is open to all residents of Victoria. Staff and family members of staff of relevant stakeholders* will be excluded. The entrant must accompany the entry name with a reasoning of the choice in 25 words or less. The competition will run for thee months, beginning on December 1 and concluding on February 28th 2010. The winner will be announced by the Minister for Planning in early 2010. The winning name will be determined by the Minister for Planning based on a recommendation from the Footscray Renewal Advisory Group appointed judges. The Group will produce a short list of names for consultation with key groups, including Council, project parties, and Aboriginal elders. This process will be conducted in partnership with the office of Geographic Place Names Victoria. A new Apple Mac Book Pro laptop computer is the prize for the winning entry. If there happens to be multiple entrants nominating the same name, entries will be judged on the 25-word rational to determine a winner. In the event of a tie, a draw will be held. Competition judging criteria The name of the Footscray Footbridge will be determined against the following criteria and in keeping with Geographical Place Names Victoria guidelines.
